???
and, from his myspace, a photo of the tumor that “exploded out of her leg!”
this guy’s name is Todd Bentley. there’s a lot of info about him out there, just do some googling.
i truly believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, but where do you draw the line? i think this guy not only crossed it but put the pedal to the floor and is speeding away on the other side.

In Todd Bentley’s defense this video is a compalation of all the crazy stories he told in one night chopping out any sort of context or explanation that he included in the testimonies. And when it comes down to it I’m not so sure that leg dropping a pastor is much crazier than putting spit and mud in a perfect stranger’s blind eye.

i’m not so sure any amount of context or explanation could justify kicking an old lady in the face..
do some searching on mr. bentley and you’ll see some scary stuff. like this other video…
“the people already believe in Jesus, they need to believe in the angel”??
lastly, i sure hope you weren’t comparing todd bentley to Jesus Christ… yes, spit and clay is unorthodox, but we’re talking about God himself.

I am comparing Todd Bentley’s ministry with Jesus Christ’s. Jesus was the most normal Christian in the bible and we’re all supposed to be like Him more every day. He is our example. I don’t expect anyone to be God, only Christ like.
I’m with you in that I have a hard time beleiving that kicking an old lady in the face was something that God could tell someone to do. But Todd Bentley’s fruit is very biblical.
I’ve never heared him suggest in any way that we are supposed to “worship” angels, ask them to come, or speak with them. His focus is on Jesus as the one who gets the glory. Angels are messengers and they cary the glory of God, so asking God to send them is not unbiblical. We want all that God will give us and biblically He often uses angels to bring a new thing. I’m not saying that we should focus on angels, I’m just saying that it’s not wrong to aknowledge their presence and as Christians we should beleive that they exist with God in heavenly places as we, too, are seated with Christ in heavenly places.
If you look at anything critically, to find something wrong with it, you will find what you’re looking for. We’re all human. The Lakeland revival as a whole has alot of flesh in it as well as a whole lot of the Spirit doing a new thing for the body of Christ. He’s trying to send a wind of change and it’s hard for most to accept.
I’m not saying that you should not test any “move of God” because we should test anything with the Word of God. The Word and the Spirit always agree. But it’s just as silly to criticize without tasting as it is to taste without testing.

Jesus said that you will “know them (His followers) by their fruits”
The book of Galatians names the fruits of the Holy Spirit
Galations 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
We should judge Todd Bentley’s ministry by the fruits exhibited by the minister not by the supposed “miracles” that are taking place in these hyped up emotion filled meetings. The power of suggestion is a powerful force. People can experience many seemingly supernatural experiences in an mass hysteria environment such as this. Fake hypnotists and spiritual mediums have made people exhibit strange behavior for years in circus and stage shows.
Todd Bentley’s bizarre and violent action during these “healings” frankly sickens me. Kicking a woman in the face, body slamming a pastor, kneeing a man with advanced abdominal cancer causing him to double over in pain are not “fruits of the Spirit”. Well they may be fruits of “a” spirit…but not the Holy Spirit. There are no recorded instances in the Bible of God using violence to heal people. Jesus was always moved with compassion and most of the time simply laid hands on them. He most always attributed their healing to their faith in Him.
In the instance of casting out demons. It was the demons that slammed the person to the ground…not the preacher. Mr. Bentley seems to use sick people as “props” for his big show. Where is the peace, where is the gentleness, where is the temperence? The fruits of the spirit seem to be lost in this “anything goes” free-for-all which in my opinion is far from godly.
Since I have been saved I have seen this type of thing many times before. This is not a “new move of God”. It is just simply a remake of the Rodney-Howard Brown meetings in Toronto Canada, where people would writhe around on the floor with contorted facial expressions, others would laugh uncontrollably while others crawled around on all fours barking like dogs. A move of God? Hmmmmmm.
This is what happens when people follow after signs and wonders instead of seeking a close relationship with God. Please please please…do not follow after these charlatans. Stay in the Word, get close to God and let the Holy Spirit guide you into truth so that you will not be deceived by these supposed moves of God.
